Musical Performance by Luke Walker
Luke Walker is an undergraduate studying music at Harvard College and Berklee College of Music. Born on the island of Trinidad, he started playing the steelpan at the age of three and piano soon after. At six years old, he joined his first steelband and has since become a frontline player of the Invaders Steel Orchestra, the oldest steelband in the world. His talent also led him to orchestral percussion and he has played with the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Philharmonic and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Throughout his educational journey, his musical development paralleled his academic success which eventually afforded him the opportunity to be a part of the Harvard Berklee Dual Degree Program which entails earning a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard and Masters in Music from Berklee simultaneously. As the only international student in this program thus far, he proudly shares his Caribbean heritage with the world in the form of music.
