Michelle Thornhill is the Chief of Staff for Wells Fargo Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion and Strategic Philanthropy. In this position, she is responsible for overseeing strategy and integration across diversity and inclusion (D&I), strategic philanthropy and key stakeholder groups internal and external to Wells Fargo. She also serves as a liaison to the Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Council and the Wells Fargo Foundation Board.
Michelle has served in a number of roles since she began her tenure at Wells Fargo ranging from Mortgage, Marketing to Diversity & Inclusion. She has over 15 years of experience developing consumer initiatives for diverse audiences within financial services and non-profit sectors. She actively demonstrates her commitment to the multi-faceted nature of the African American segment through her work with the NAACP, teaching at a Historically Black College and University, developing and implementing financial education programs, and consulting with African American business owners.
Michelle was recognized by Uptown Professional in 2012 as one of the Top 100 Executives and received the Network Journal’s “Twenty Five Influential Black Women in Business Award” in 2011. She currently serves on the Charlotte Advisory Board for The Hispanic Scholarship Fund as well as the Parent Diversity Council at Charlotte Latin School. She is an active member and Co-Chair of the South Region for CALIBR, a global leadership network comprised of over 500 mid-senior level minority professional executive members. Previously, she served as the Chair for New Leaders Charlotte, an organization focused on developing school leaders for urban school districts.
