Kyle Ofori is in his first year of the Master in Urban Planning program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and is pursuing a concurrent Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is interested in economic development in underserved city neighborhoods, particularly in Black communities. Kyle’s interest in this topic was sparked while he lived in Detroit and taught high school algebra at Jalen Rose Leadership Academy. Later, working as a mobile application developer at Detroit Labs, he volunteered with the Eastside Community Network community development corporation and co-founded an after school program to teach web development to high school students. After graduating, Kyle plans to build on his experiences to invest in housing in predominantly Black neighborhoods, creating social and financial benefits for existing residents and their supporters. He is a Princeton University alumnus.
