Marcus Allen is a serial entrepreneur born in Greensboro, NC and graduated from NC A&T with a BS in Supply Chain Logistics. With his best friend, co-founded the popular social enterprise Broccoli City in 2010 with the goal of improving way of life in urban communities through mobilization. In addition, Marcus has successfully opened a trendy southern restaurant, launched Blackleaf Organic Vodka, and started boutique experiential marketing agency called Think Broccoli.
Over the past few years, Marcus has lead the production on Broccoli City Festival, Broccoli-Conference, Smile Project: Carnival + Concert, and numerous smaller events in DC and LA, with budgets ranging from $10k – $2M. In 2015, Marcus was recognized by Stanford University as one of the top social innovators in the world during their Executive Program for Social Entrepreneurs.
After the 2016 Broccoli City Festival, Marcus co-founded a social impact digital currency mobile app called We Chip’N that allows users to earn “digital chips” by volunteering their time. Those “chips” can be used to purchase cool incentives from top brands such as Live Nation, &pizza, LYFT, Amazon, and Whole Foods. To date the app has over 10k users and logged 25k volunteer hours in urban communities across the U.S.
