Melissa Parnagian is a Master of Public Policy candidate at Harvard Kennedy School and a Sheila C. Johnson Leadership Fellow in the Center for Public Leadership, where she works to reduce disparities in African American communities. Melissa focuses on the intersection of media, politics, and policy with particular emphasis on the power of sports and entertainment to shape public discourse. Prior to graduate school, Melissa worked on outreach and communications as part of President Obama’s New Jersey re-election team; Senator Cory Booker’s district office; and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. She also worked in social media and digital strategy while interning for Precision Strategies, a nationally recognized digital consulting firm. Melissa graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and a certificate in American Studies.
