Okechi Boms (he/his) is an MD/ MPP candidate at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), and he is a Fellow for Serving African American Communities at the HKS Center for Public Leadership. He was born and raised in Nigeria and then emigrated to Tennessee. He studied Biology and Global Health at Duke University and contributed to local and international health research and intervention. Before medical school, he was awarded a Fulbright research grant to study food security and child health in Quito, Ecuador. At HMS, he has co-created and led community health and youth empowerment initiatives. He is passionate about advancing pediatric health equity through innovation and policy advocacy.
