Roberta Timothy is an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Dr. Timothy’s research interests intersect anti-colonial, anti-oppression, and community-based health promotions, policy and practice. Specifically a transnational intersectional human rights approach to social determinants of health impacting African, Black and Indigenous Communities. Dr. Timothy is currently focused on two key themes which include the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Anti-Oppression Psychotherapy (AOP): 1) Criminalization and the SDOH in African/Black and Indigenous communities and 2) Mobilizing critical intersectionality and AOP in community mental health. Prof. Roberta Timothy is launching a Black-run and led survey to understand the impact of COVID-19 on the African and Black diaspora.
